Huckleberry Pie Filling

Cover with water and let come to a boil:

4          -           cups                 huckleberries

Add and ten boil 1 minute:

-           1/2       teaspoon          baking soda


Drain and add:

-           1/2       cup                  water

Cook until soft. Mash and then add:

1          1/2       cups                 sugar

1          -           tablespoon       lemon juice

Boil for 15 minutes. Add:

1          -           tablespoon       tapioca

A) Place in pie crust.
B) Dot with butter.
C) Add top crust.
D) Bake until done.
